Poni: The 4th edition of the Southwest Music Awards (AMUSUO) will take place on December 6, 2025, in Gaoua.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the SIRAKADJAN Association announced the main features of this edition during a press conference. The event, themed "Voices of Dj´r´ for Peace and Social Cohesion," aims to showcase the artistic talents of the Dj´r´ region.
SIRAKADJAN officials emphasized that AMUSUO annually gathers key figures in Dj´r´ music to promote local talent and provide a platform for national and international exposure. This edition has received 23 musical works, created between April 2024 and March 2025, with three nominees in each of the nine categories.
A total of nine trophies will be awarded to outstanding Dj´r´ artists, alongside a trophy for artists from western Burkina Faso and two honorary awards for individuals with notable contributions to the region's musical growth. The prestigious AMUSUO Gold Trophy will honor an artist who has excelled during the year.
The event will feature musical performances, a screening of an awareness film on the national context, a hair show, and exhibitions of clothing, visual, and literary art. Despite securing only 45% of the necessary budget, the organizers are committed to proceeding with institutional and private partner support.
The organizers expressed gratitude to authorities and partners, highlighting music as a unifying force for social cohesion. The event is under the patronage of the Minister in charge of Culture and the chairmanship of the Governor of the Dj´r´ region, with sponsorship from His Majesty Bifate II.
Scheduled for December 6th at 8 p.m. at the Adarka venue in Gaoua, the event promises a vibrant display of talent and creativity. Admission is free, inviting the public to celebrate the spirit of Dj´r´ music.
