South African U17 Women’s Team Falls to Morocco 0-2 in Casablanca Friendly

CASABLANCA – The South African U17 women’s national team, known as Bantwana, lost to Morocco 0-2 in an international friendly at the Père Jégo stadium on Monday night.

According to South African Football Association, the North Africans took the lead in the first half when Mokhtar Jamai scored a goal against Bantwana goalkeeper Casey Gordon.

Morocco secured their victory late in the game when Meyssane Layachi added a second goal in the 94th minute. The two teams had previously drawn 1-1 in their first international friendly at the Mohammed VI football complex in Salé on Friday, October 27, 2023.
