South Africa has been identified as the African country with the highest crime rate, according to rankings published by Numbeo, a data analysis service. This places South Africa at the top of a list that includes several other countries known for high levels of crime.

According to Burkina Information Agency, The report from Numbeo lists Nigeria and Angola alongside South Africa as the three countries in Africa with the highest crime rates. They are followed by Somalia, Cameroon, Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Ivory Coast, with Kenya rounding out the top ten. Furthermore, six South African cities are noted as leading in crime rates among African cities.

Conversely, the safest countries in Africa, as per the same report, are Rwanda, Tunisia, and Ghana, with Rwanda ranked as the safest.
