Sourou: Writer and school teacher Issouf Djibo signed his second novel, Window of a Life, on Saturday in Tougan, telling the story of a young girl displaced by insecurity. The event was chaired by High Commissioner Dsir Badolo and attended by writers, local authorities, and many citizens celebrating this literary creation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the novel delves into the hardships faced by affected populations while also highlighting renewed hope and gradual resumption of activities in the region. The presentation was led by Fid¨le Tiamassa, a doctor of semiotics, and the ceremony was sponsored by Commander Karim Souabo, demonstrating the commitment of security forces to peace and normalcy.
High Commissioner Dsir Badolo commended Issouf Djibo's initiative, encouraging young readers to find messages of resilience and hope in local literature amidst security challenges. The audience appreciated the author's message in Window of a Life, which amplifies the voices of insecurity victims and celebrates the return to tranquility in Sourou.
Participant Jonas Zouri emphasized the novel's impact, stating, "Through the dedication, I have the impression that the novel is about me. This is exactly what we experienced here in Tougan. I congratulate Issouf Djibo for his work and invite everyone to read this novel to better understand our realities."
This novel follows Djibo's first publication, Sourou: Identity from Yesterday to Today, released in 2022.
