Sourou Provincial Consultation Framework Members Deliberate on Local Authority Laws

Tougan: Members of the Sourou Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) convened their first ordinary session of the year in Tougan, led by the High Commissioner of Sourou Province, D©sir© Badolo. The assembly focused on discussing Law No. 024-2025/ALT concerning the General Code of Local Authorities and Law No. 011-2025/ALT regarding freedom of association in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session took place in the conference room of the Zela Hotel, where participants were presented with details on the legislative texts adopted in 2025. Funded by the Burkina Faso Red Cross, the meeting also included a brief overview of the humanitarian organization's work in the Sourou province.

D©sir© Badolo, the High Commissioner, emphasized that these consultation frameworks are designed to aid in the coordination of local development activities. "The provincial consultation framework is a body created to coordinate local development actions," he stated.

Participants expressed appreciation for the meeting, which provided them with a clearer understanding of the legal provisions. Martine S©ogo, a participant, remarked that the forum enhanced her knowledge of aspects related to the General Code of Local Authorities and freedom of association. Adama Kon©, another attendee, noted that these laws will contribute to improving the associative environment for local development.

High Commissioner Badolo commended the quality of discussions and encouraged stakeholders to stay resilient amid security challenges. He also expressed gratitude to the Burkina Faso Red Cross for its support and called on other organizations to back future initiatives within the consultation framework.
