Mouhoun: The teaching exams were announced on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in all juries in the Boucle du Mouhoun region. Following the results, the region has a success rate of 84.12% for the BEP/CAP and 45.80% for the BEPC. The Sourou province comes first with a success rate of 49.96%.
According to Burkina Information Agency, at the end of the first round of the exams, the Boucle du Mouhoun region had a success rate of 30.56%. This rate rose to 45.80% at the end of the second round of the exams. Out of 15,113 candidates initially registered, the region recorded 14,769 candidates present in the various examination centers.
Statistics compiled by the examinations and competitions department of the regional directorate in charge of Education in Boucle du Mouhoun show that the Sourou province leads the way in general education with a success rate of 49.96%. It is followed by the province of Mouhoun with a rate of 49.01%, the Bal© in third place with 46.93%, the Kossi occupies the fourth place with a rate of 41.05% against 38.79% for the province of Banwa which occupies the fifth place and the Nayala with a rate of 37.97%.
For technical exams, the region recorded a success rate of 91.61% for the CAP and 80.32% for the BEP, giving an overall rate of 84.12%. Comparing the results of this session with that of 2024, the region has seen an increase of 10.13 points for technical education exams and 1.54 points for the BEPC.
Officials in charge of secondary education noted that the 2024-2025 school year did not experience any major disruption, which allowed for the smooth running of educational activities. The reopening of schools closed for security reasons has allowed many students to return to school. These performances are to the credit of education stakeholders who have been resilient despite the difficult context that the region is experiencing.
Likewise, the resumption of educational activities in certain localities was possible thanks to the determination of the fighting forces and the support of the administration. Raoul Sanon, Regional Director of Education in Boucle du Mouhoun, congratulated the education stakeholders who were able to prioritize the nation’s interests and in their resilience, improved the region’s performance. He expressed hope that solutions would be found to address the challenges impacting results in certain localities.
Sanon renewed his gratitude to the fighting forces who work daily to pacify the localities, enabling a resumption of activities. Attention is now turned to the Baccalaureate, the written exams of which begin on June 24, 2025, throughout the country. For this exam, the Boucle du Mouhoun region will present 7,845 candidates including 4,039 girls and 3,806 boys who will sit on 33 juries.
