Sourou Musician Donates 40% of Concert Revenue to Support Local Defense Forces


Sourou – On Friday, May 31, 2024, local musician Issa Emile Boro, known professionally as Leussa, donated 40% of the revenue from his recent concert to support the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) in Sourou.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the concert, dubbed the ‘Concert of Resilience,’ was held on April 27, 2024, at the Tougan multipurpose hall and aimed to not only entertain but also to acknowledge the resilience of the local population and support the efforts of the FDS and VDP. The ceremony for the donation was presided over by the High Commissioner of Sourou, Désiré Badolo, and took place amidst ongoing security challenges in the region.



Fousseni Paré, the provincial director of youth and employment, representing the High Commissioner at the event, expressed gratitude towards Leussa for his significant financial contribution. Paré also emphasized the provincial authorities’ commitment to supporting cultural and musical endeavors in Sourou.



The funds, amounting to 58,000 FCA, were handed over to the public treasury, specifically designated for the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP), marking a fulfillment of the artist’s pledge to support the regional defense and security initiatives through his musical activities.
