Sourou: The Patriotic Movement for the Development of Sourou (MPDS) organized a significant mobilization event on November 30, 2024, demonstrating solidarity with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the province. The event featured a donation ceremony aimed at bolstering the Combatant Forces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation ceremony was held at the Public Reading and Cultural Animation Center (CLPAC) in Tougan. The event was attended by prominent figures including the High Commissioner of the Sourou province, members of the Defense and Security Forces, and various social groups. The president of MPDS, Issouf Djibo, highlighted the initiative’s objective to support the FDS and VDP in their efforts to reclaim national territory.
Mr. Djibo encouraged the local population to enhance their cooperation with the combat forces to aid in their operations on the ground. The High Commissioner, Désiré Badolo, commended the MPDS for its init
iative and urged the community to participate actively in activities that serve the common good.
The day’s events included a popular cross, a donation ceremony, a communal meal shared with the fighting forces, and a gala match between the FDS and VDP. The match culminated in a victory for the FDS, with a final score of 2-1.
