Sourou/BEPC session 2023: 1,561 candidates to conquer the first secondary diploma

The Vice-president of the special delegation of the municipality of Tougan, Siaka Boro officially launched on Thursday, June 1, 2023 , the examination of the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC) session 2023. The province registered 1,705 candidates, but 1,561, including 879 girls and 682 boys, took part in the exam.

The vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Tougan, Siaka Boro, representing the high commissioner, proceeded on Thursday 1 st , to the official launch of the tests of the Brevet d’études du premier cycle (BEPC), session 2023, at the provincial high school of Tougan.

He is accompanied by the provincial director in charge of primary education, Benjamin Kaho and security agents.

According to the provincial director of post-primary and secondary education in Sourou, Mamadou Ky, all candidates compose in the city of Tougan given the security situation.

“The events started without major difficulties and all arrangements have been made for the session to take place in the best conditions,” said Mr. Ky.

The number of candidates is down compared to the 2022 session which had registered 2,118 candidates.

The city of Tougan has been under blockade since January 2023 and students who went for the first trimester holidays were unable to reach their schools
