Sourou Baccalaureate 2026: Series A Achieves Higher Success Rate Than Series D

Sourou: The province of Sourou has announced the results of the 2026 baccalaureate examinations, revealing an overall success rate of 63.88%. The results showed a stark contrast in performance between Series A and Series D, with Series A achieving an 80.44% pass rate compared to 49.68% for Series D.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the examination session saw 587 candidates sitting for the exams across the two series. Out of these candidates, 375 were declared successful, with 218 students passing in Series A and 157 in Series D. The results mark a significant achievement for Series A candidates, contributing to the overall provincial success rate of 63.88%.

Lucien Bakala, the president of jury 391 stationed at the Tougan Municipal High School, expressed satisfaction with the session's proceedings. "Everything went well here at jury 391 in Tougan. We were not satisfied with the results of the first round, but those of the second round are a bit of a relief. We would have liked to achieve 100% success, but failing that, we thank God for what we have obtained. Courage to the candidates who were deferred," he stated.

Among the successful candidates is Marou Ti©gnan, who passed the second round and expressed his joy and gratitude. "I am very happy. I thank my teachers, my parents, my classmates and God for this blessing. I was stressed, but thank God, the result is positive," he shared. Ti©gnan also encouraged those who were unsuccessful to remain hopeful, work harder, and persevere in their efforts.
