Ouagadougou: The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Sourou recognized the achievements of its top students and teachers on Saturday during a day dedicated to academic excellence. This event was presided over by the High Commissioner of the province, D©sir© Badolo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the DPEPPNF organized the event on October 25, 2025, to honor the best teachers and students from the previous school year. Nineteen students and five teachers, including one recognized as 'Super Teacher,' were awarded for their outstanding performance.
Aldjouma Soro, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, highlighted that the achievements were a result of the dedication and hard work of all involved parties. The province achieved a 96.14% success rate for the Primary School Certificate (CEP) and a 95.56% success rate for non-formal education, despite facing challenging security conditions.
Soro also noted that the top-performing girl at the CEP, 2025 session from the region, is from Sourou and has been admitted to the Prytan©e militaire du Kadiogo (PMK).
High Commissioner D©sir© Badolo extended his congratulations to the laureates, urging them to continue serving as role models for their peers. He emphasized that excellence is not a permanent achievement but a continuous pursuit and effort.
Philibert H. Coulibaly, Regional Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education for Boucle du Mouhoun, attended the event, lauding the initiative and congratulating the winners. He encouraged them to remain resilient and consistent, while also highlighting the importance of learning mother tongues and exploring career opportunities.
Teacher Bienvenue Golan© from Dona Drabo A Primary School was honored as the "Super Teacher" of the Year, receiving a certificate and a new motorcycle as a reward.
