Ouagadougou: The sons and daughters of the commune of Kaya, capital of the province of Sanmatenga, proceeded on Saturday to the establishment of the Communal Consultation Framework of resource persons, a citizen initiative intended to stimulate sustainable endogenous socio-economic development and to strengthen social cohesion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial coordinator of the framework, Isma«l Sawadogo, stated that this platform is part of the national effort to mobilize local skills around development priorities defined by Burkinabe authorities. He explained that this framework aims to be a genuine lever for grassroots social transformation by fostering ongoing dialogue among the various local stakeholders.
"The objective is to unite the energies of the sons and daughters of the region in order to exchange on development actions and strengthen social cohesion," he indicated, stressing that this structure responds to a real need for synergy between the different social strata.
The inauguration of the municipal office was attended by administrative, traditional, and religious authorities, as well as community leaders. For Mr. Sawadogo, this popular enthusiasm is a key factor in translating national ambitions into concrete results at the local level.
In a municipality facing numerous challenges, this framework appears as a strategic tool for channeling local initiatives and promoting development based on internal resources. Such an approach, he added, guarantees resilience and sustainability for communities.
The Secretary General for Organization of the framework, Hamidou Ouedraogo, emphasized the need to transcend divisions in order to build a shared vision of development. "There was a lack of a framework capable of uniting all those of goodwill. Today, this void has been filled," he stated, advocating for inclusive consultation and increased empowerment of local stakeholders.
The President of the Kaya Special Delegation, Solange Kima/Minoungou, welcomed the establishment of this platform, which she sees as an opportunity to strengthen unity and social cohesion. She believes it will help overcome past divisions and provide the population with a space for dialogue and coordinated action.
Composed of 26 members from diverse socio-professional backgrounds, the Resource Persons Consultation Framework is already established in all municipalities of the province. Its aims include promoting social cohesion, citizen mobilization, support for agricultural initiatives, as well as sanitation and reforestation efforts.
Through this initiative, the province of Sanmatenga intends to establish itself as a model of endogenous development, where the consultation of resource persons constitutes an essential driver of socio-economic progress and social stability.
