Song-Taaba Association Distributes Essential Food Items to Vulnerable Households in Kombissiri

Kombissiri: The Song-Taaba Association of Women of Burkina (ASTFB) has extended support to 40 vulnerable households by donating essential food items. The distribution took place on March 28, 2025, in Kombissiri, targeting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups across the municipalities of Doulougou, Gaongo, Kombissiri, and To©c©.



According to Burkina Information Agency, each of the 40 households received a package containing a 100-kg bag of corn, 50 kg of rice, 5 liters of vegetable oil, 15 kg of salt, and four balls of soap. This initiative is part of a collaboration between ASTFB and NGO Plan International, under the Youth Empowerment in West Africa (YEWA) program, aimed at supporting those in need during challenging times.



Mariam Ou©draogo/N©bi©, the president of the ASTFB board of directors, highlighted that the food distribution is intended to provide necessary support to IDPs and vulnerable households in Baz¨ga’s four communes. The initiative seeks to offer relief to these communities during a difficult period.



Aristide Yam©ogo, representing the Baz¨ga provincial directorate in charge of humanitarian action, expressed appreciation for ASTFB’s efforts, which affected nearly 200 people. Yam©ogo emphasized the importance of such gestures and hoped they would inspire other organizations to follow suit. The beneficiary households were selected based on criteria defined by the Baz¨ga provincial directorate.



Additionally, Mariam Ou©draogo/N©bi© mentioned that a similar distribution occurred earlier in the day in Manga, Zoundw©ogo province, benefiting 60 IDP households and other vulnerable groups, reinforcing ASTFB’s commitment to providing assistance across its intervention zones.
