Somda and Brothers Automobile Company Celebrates Christmas with Gifts for 75 Underprivileged Children in Ouagadougou


Ouagadougou – The Somda and Brothers Automobile Company (ESEF) brightened the holiday season for 75 disadvantaged children in Ouagadougou, including internally displaced persons, by offering them a range of gifts as part of the 2023 Christmas celebration.



According to Burkina Information Agency, CEO of the Entreprise Somda et Frères (ESEF) automobile group, the company’s initiative aimed to bring joy to children facing hardships, especially those displaced from their villages to the capital. The gifts included toys, children’s cars, food, and other items, intended to lighten the spirits of these children during the festive season.



The CEO spoke at a Christmas tree event organized by ESEF in Ouagadougou on Saturday for the benefit of these 75 children. He recalled that in 2022, a similar activity was conducted by ESEF at the Paspanga camp, aiding children of Defense and Security Forces members who had fallen in battle.



Somda highlighted that beyond the festive celebrations, ESEF is committed to supporting the education of disadvantaged students and orphans, enabling them to continue their studies. He emphasized that the company’s efforts are not about the availability of resources but about sharing and bringing happiness to those in need.



He also called on other organizations to undertake similar initiatives to spread joy among children living in challenging circumstances in Burkina Faso.



Faouziatou Ouédraogo, president of the Agir pour les enfants d’Afrique (APEA) association, expressed her appreciation for the compassionate day organized for vulnerable children. The APEA had planned special gifts, including watches, books, and accessories for girls, aiming to support the development of the country’s future builders.



Ouédraogo mentioned that this event marked the first activity of the APEA, which is dedicated to contributing to the welfare of disadvantaged children and residents of the city’s 1,200 housing units.



The ESEF automobile group’s initiative, now in its third consecutive year, represents a commitment to supporting vulnerable children during the Christmas season, highlighting the spirit of giving and compassion in the community.
