Somalia’s Government to Rebuild Flood-Damaged Bridges

Dolow, Somalia – During a visit to the Dolow district in the Gedo region, the Prime Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, observed the humanitarian situation caused by torrential rains in various regions of the country. Addressing the regional leaders and the people of the city, Prime Minister Hamza stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and actively addressing the challenges posed by the ongoing floods. He urged people to be cautious and avoid returning to the affected areas.

According to Somali National News Agency, The Prime Minister also announced plans to rebuild bridges in Bardhere, Burdhubo, and Luuq as part of the government’s efforts to restore security, peace, and social mobility in the region. This promise came during a critical period when heavy rains have caused significant disruptions across Somalia, including the closure of some airports and widespread damage in several areas. The Prime Minister’s commitment reflects the government’s dedication to addressing the immediate needs of its citizens and rebuilding critical infrastructure.
