Somalia, UK Sign Agreement to Improve Maternal and Child Health

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Somalia and the British Embassy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a health project to improve maternal and child health services on Monday. The Better Lives project will be implemented by UNICEF in Jubaland, Galmudug, and Banadir regions. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Somalia, Dr. Ali Haji Adan, and the British Ambassador to Somalia, Lottie Burrows. The agreement will provide funding for the Better Lives project, which will focus on improving access to quality maternal and child health services in Somalia. The agreement between Somalia and the UK is a significant step forward in improving maternal and child health in Somalia. The Better Lives project will help to save lives and improve the health of mothers and children in Somalia. Dr. Ali Haji Adan expressed his gratitude to the UK government for their support of this important project. Lottie Burrows said, This agreement is important for the health system in Somalia and will play a major role in the ministry’s efforts to improve the country’s health services.
