Somalia Appoints New Ambassador to Qatar

Mogadishu – The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, recently received the credentials of Somalia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali, also known as Doodishe. The ceremony marked a pivotal moment in enhancing the diplomatic relationship between Somalia and Qatar. Dr. Doodishe, previously serving as Somalia’s Minister of Internal Security, is recognized for his significant contributions in Somali politics.

According to Somali National News Agency, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s decision to appoint Dr. Doodishe as Ambassador to Qatar signifies a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. The Emir of Qatar’s acceptance of Dr. Doodishe’s credentials further reinforces the dedication to diplomatic cooperation between the two nations. Dr. Doodishe’s diplomatic appointment was preceded by a farewell gathering with the cabinet ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia on November 23, 2023.
