President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Saturday met with the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee (NAMLC) to discuss their progress in disrupting the financial networks of Al-Shabaab terrorists. The committee reported that their efforts have raised awareness among the Somali people and weakened the terrorists’ ability to extort and loot from local businesses.
President Mohamud emphasized that the fight against Al-Shabaab must be waged on three fronts: economic, ideological, and military. He stated that victory on all three fronts is necessary to fully liberate the country from the terrorists.
In a separate event, President Mohamud, accompanied by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, visited the headquarters of the National Security and Intelligence Agency to observe their work in protecting the country.
