Somali Forces Deliver Aid to Flood Victims in Afmadow

Afmadow, Somalia – The Somali National Army (SNA) and the Darawish forces of Jubbaland State have mobilized to provide relief to residents in the Afmadow district, recently affected by severe flooding.

According to Somali National News Agency, these forces have distributed essential supplies, including food, water, blankets, and medicine, to the flood-affected populace. They are also engaged in enhancing security and conducting rescue operations for individuals trapped or injured due to the floods. The Afmadow district, under the administration of Jubbaland, a federal member state of Somalia, regularly faces flooding challenges due to seasonal rains causing the Juba River to overflow.

The National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) of Somalia has extended aid to several regions affected by the floods. SoDMA has called upon the international community and humanitarian organizations for additional support to assist the flood victims.
