Luanda: Approximately 400 tons of goods have been collected through the "Solidarity Embrace" campaign, targeting assistance for flood victims in Benguela province.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the provisional data was announced by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, M¡rio Oliveira, during a "solidarity show" held in Luanda. The minister mentioned that the final tally of donations is expected to be completed by Sunday.
Following the completion of the accounting process, a government delegation is set to travel to Benguela province to distribute the collected goods to those affected by the floods. Minister Oliveira emphasized the campaign's success as a significant demonstration of unity among Angolans. He also noted that despite the official conclusion of the campaign, contributions are still welcome and can be delivered to the reception areas of media outlets nationwide.
The "Solidarity Embrace" initiative was launched on April 13 by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication (MINTTCS) to gather support for those impacted by the flooding in Benguela province.
