Baku: The population of the village of Koma, located 12 kilometers from the town of Solenzo, built a bridge using their own funds at a cost of three million CFA francs, the AIB correspondent observed on Tuesday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Daouda Konat, the village's community watch coordinator, stated that the construction of this bridge was made possible thanks to the community mobilization of the villagers. "The road was cut off and the other wooden bridge was broken, making it difficult to get to Solenzo whenever we wanted. That's why we built this bridge together," he explained.

The bridge was completed in July 2026 thanks to household contributions and a community effort to collect aggregates and sand. This allows users to move around freely.

The provincial coordinator of citizen watch, Rodrigue Coulibaly, welcomed the initiative of the population of Koma and invited them to embrace the call of the President of Faso on integrity and patriotism. "I will take the information to the head of the municipality, who is the PDS, and on his behalf, I congratulate the villages that are fighting for the development of the municipality of Solenzo," he stressed.
