Solenzo: The team from Moussakongo A school, located about twelve kilometers from Solenzo, secured the trophy at the conclusion of the cultural and sporting activities final of the CEB 1 of Solenzo, held on the field of Solenzo A school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the activities organized by the Sports, Culture and Recreation Organization of the Solenzo 1 Basic Education District (OSCLEP) met all expectations. In a closely contested match against Solenzo C school team, Moussakongo A was victorious following a penalty shootout.
Supporters from both Solenzo and Moussakongo gathered energetically on the pitch, providing a festive atmosphere. The match consisted of two 25-minute halves and ended in a goalless draw. The penalty shootout saw both teams scoring five successful attempts each, necessitating a decisive penalty which ultimately led to Moussakongo A's triumph.
For their win, Moussakongo A received the trophy, two balls, a set of jerseys, a box of notebooks, and 35,000 CFA francs. The second-place team, Solenzo C, was awarded two balls, a set of jerseys, a box of notebooks, and 25,000 CFA francs.
Athletics also saw special prizes being distributed. The top two finishers in both jumping and sprinting events, for girls and boys, were rewarded with 10,000 CFA francs and 5,000 CFA francs respectively.
Eustache Bicaba, the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), voiced his satisfaction with the dedication shown by teachers, commending their contribution to the success of these activities. Additionally, Sabane Guira, the representative of the PDS for the commune of Solenzo, extended his congratulations to all participants.
He remarked, "These competitions took place in the spirit of the theme 'For peace, civic responsibility, and solidarity, I commit myself.' They allowed us to celebrate diversity while respecting our cultural identity. I encourage everyone to live this theme every day."
