Solenzo Community Holds Prayer Day for Peace in Burkina Faso

BANWA — In a unified call for peace, the Sufi Muslim community of Solenzo gathered at the sector 4 mosque on Saturday morning to pray for stability in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was marked by the presence of women and children dressed in white, symbolizing peace, alongside various social strata and administrative representatives. The day of prayer and blessings, organized by Cheick Abdoul Karim Tiama, began with speeches expressing support for national tranquility.

Before leading the prayer, Sheikh Abdoul Karim Tiama sought permission from the Bobo delegation and all Muslim faithful in Solenzo, emphasizing the day’s purpose as dedicated to seeking genuine peace and tranquility across the nation. He also delivered blessings to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), acknowledging their efforts in the country’s ongoing conflicts.

The prayer session lasted nearly an hour, and the organizers announced plans for a follow-up sermon in the coming days to continue their efforts toward national harmony.
