Aldai: Every Kenyan should always be responsible for maintaining peace, stability, and tranquillity in the country, Defense Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has said. Tuya emphasized the importance of national unity during a thanksgiving ceremony at African Inland Church Chebisaas Aldai Girls in Aldai Constituency, where she spoke about the need for Kenyans to portray their country positively.

According to Kenya News Agency, Tuya expressed concern over some individuals’ attempts to tarnish Kenya’s image on the international stage. She referred to an incident during the visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, where certain groups allegedly misrepresented the country’s safety and reputation to the visiting dignitaries. Tuya questioned the motives behind these actions and urged Kenyans to consider the long-term impact on the nation’s peace and unity.

Tuya highlighted the importance of setting a good example for future generations. She stressed that children are likely to emulate the actions of their elders, urging citizens to think about the legacy they leave behind. The Defense CS also noted the positive international reputation Kenya enjoys and encouraged Kenyans to foster patriotism over personal ambitions.

Tuya called on citizens to protect the country’s borders and maintain a peaceful environment for economic activities to flourish. She encouraged Kenyans to love their country and safeguard its security, given the challenges faced beyond its borders. Additionally, Tuya challenged Aldai Girls students to prioritize their education and avoid early, unsafe sexual practices that could lead to school dropouts.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang also addressed the gathering, promising collaboration with the National Government to uphold high education standards in Nandi County. The event was attended by other notable leaders, including Nandi County Commissioner Caroline Nzwili and the area Member of National Assembly, Kitany Marianne, along with senior government officials.
