Dakar, Senegal – Proparco is reinforcing its support for Société Générale Sénégal by providing an “ARIZ” portfolio guarantee, aiming to enhance credit accessibility for very small enterprises (VSEs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Senegal.

According to Africa News Agency, the ARIZ risk-sharing program is designed to facilitate financing for local VSEs and SMEs, which often struggle to meet the stringent guarantee requirements of financial institutions. The ARIZ guarantee allows banks to share credit risks and reduce the collateral level needed, thereby aiding the expansion of their financing services for SMEs. Société Générale Sénégal, a leading ARIZ partner bank in Senegal since 2005, has helped 454 companies through this program, particularly in trade, transport, and agriculture. The new ARIZ portfolio guarantee will cover up to 50% of the bank’s loans to local SMEs, supporting their development and contributing to job creation and economic growth in Senegal.
