Société Générale and IFC Collaborate to Boost Sustainable Finance in Developing Countries

PARIS – Société Générale and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have entered into an agreement to expand sustainable finance in developing countries. This collaboration aims to enhance financing solutions focused on climate transition and mobilize private investments for environmental sustainability.

According to Africa News Agency, the partnership will concentrate on facilitating projects in areas such as access to energy, water, infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, and women’s entrepreneurship. The institutions will combine their strengths, with Société Générale bringing its expertise in structured finance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, and IFC contributing its experience as a global development institution focusing on the private sector. This reinforced partnership is expected to drive projects that align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals by employing strategic approaches and adhering to ESG commitments.
