‘So Kill Me’ Play Concludes Tour with Strong Message Against Incest in Saaba

SAABA — The awareness play “So kill me,” addressing the critical issue of incest, completed its final show of a 21-show tour last night in the rural commune of Saaba. The play, targeting children, young people, and parents, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers and realities of incest.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tour covered Ouagadougou and its surrounding communes, including Tanghin Dassouri and Pabré, starting last February at the National Police Academy. Sawadogo noted the play’s strong audience engagement and the need for increased awareness on the topic.

Throughout the tour, the play, written by Aristide Tarnagda and directed by Noël Minougou, drew significant attention and prompted discussions. After the shows, audience members often engaged in exchanges with the performers, expressing a desire for more educational initiatives.

The involvement of the French Institute of Ouagadougou as a financial supporter and the partnership with the National Police Academy highlighted the community’s commitment to combating incest. The last performance in Saaba saw active participation from the ‘Protection, Mother, Child and Development’ Association, whose president, Amie Badoh/Ouédraogo, praised the play’s impact on parental awareness.
