OUAGADOUGOU — Today’s Burkinabè newspapers prominently featured the 40th anniversary celebrations of the National Development Service (SND) and diplomatic engagements involving the United States and Saudi Arabia. The discussions and accolades highlighted Burkina Faso’s ongoing international relationships and internal developmental efforts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Joann Lockard, met with Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem de Tambèla, where she reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in its battle against terrorism. The publication titled its coverage “USA-Burkina Faso cooperation: The new ambassador Joann Lockard immerses herself in the national situation,” emphasizing the importance of renewed ties in combating regional security threats.
L’Observateur Paalga, a leading private newspaper, quoted Ambassador Lockard asserting that the United States has consistently stood with the Burkinabè people against what she referred to as the “forces of evil,” underscoring a steadfast international partnership.
In another significant diplomatic event reported by Le pays, Saudi Ambassador Fahad Alldosari was honored with the rank of Commander of the Order of the Stallion by the Burkinabè authorities at the conclusion of his mission in the country.
