Ongwediva: The voting process is in full swing in the Oshana Region, with voters describing the process as smooth and easy. Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge cast his vote at the Sky location polling station in the Ongwediva Constituency.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the governor expressed satisfaction with the process, noting no time was wasted and no challenges or delays were experienced. He commended the high voter turnout, emphasizing the importance of exercising voting rights as outlined in the Namibian Constitution. Iipinge urged those who had not yet voted to head to the polls and make their voices heard.
The governor encouraged registered voters in the Oshana Region to participate actively in the electoral process. He emphasized that each vote is a personal choice that contributes to holding leaders accountable and ensuring necessary services for the people of Namibia, especially in the Oshana area.
Salmi Nikanor, who voted at the same polling station as the governor, echoed similar sentiments about the seamless voting process. She urged young voters to participate and choose leaders who will guide their future.
The voting for the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections began at 07h00 and is scheduled to conclude at 21h00. However, individuals still in line at closing time will be allowed to cast their votes.
