Taita-Taveta, Kenya—The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations began without hitches in Taita-Taveta County.
According to Kenya News Agency, who was present during the opening and distribution of examination papers at Mwanyambo Primary School, the government has put elaborate security measures in place to ensure the integrity of the exams.
Mvurya, who was accompanied by senior government officials, including county commissioner Josephine Onunga and education officials, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the examination team. “We are satisfied with the progress and level of preparation by the examination team. This is to ensure that we retain the integrity of the entire process,” said the Cabinet Secretary. He added that there had been no reports of incidents from the region.
For the KPSEA examination, the county has registered a total of 8,680 candidates, consisting of 4,504 boys and 4,176 girls. These candidates will take their exams at 236 registered examination centers. In the case of the KCPE, there are 8,507 registered candidates, 4,444 of whom are boys and 4,063 are girls. The exams for KCPE will be held at 222 examination centers across the region.
