Luanda: The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, arrived in Luanda on Sunday to participate in the 7th African Union-European Union Summit, which takes place from November 24 and 25 in the Angolan capital, Luanda. At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Robert Fico received a welcome from the Minister of the Interior, Manuel Homem.
According to Angola Press News Agency, during his stay in Luanda, Robert Fico will join the other Heads of State and Government, and high-ranking European and African officials participating in the 7th edition of the AU-EU Summit. The meeting marks 25 years of partnership between the two blocs and this year takes place under the theme "Promoting peace and prosperity through effective multilateralism."
Slovakia, a Member State of the European Union since 2004, actively participates in European summits and meetings, including high-level meetings with the African Union, contributing to the formulation of EU external policies and priorities in relation to the African continent.
Several other officials arrived on Sunday morning, namely: Lus Montenegro, Prime Minister of Portugal, Jos© Ulisses Correia e Silva, Prime Minister of Cape Verde, and Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union.
