Ouagadougou: Six primary schools in the Boussouma/S2 Basic Education District (CEB) concluded their educational activities for the 2025-2026 school year on Saturday in the village of Antoa. During the ceremony, the best students, teachers, and other education stakeholders were present, along with administrative, educational, traditional, and religious authorities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the schools in the villages of Antoa, Fatin, Fatin-Bendogo, Pana, Raboudoumbaoma, and Wendatenga, facing similar realities, have decided since 2022 to organize the closing of the school year in rotation in order to strengthen solidarity between their communities.

Held under the theme "School and its environment: a synergy of action for resilient and safe education," this third edition brought together various education stakeholders and local communities in a festive atmosphere. The ceremony featured cultural performances by students, including traditional and modern dances, songs, recitals, and theatrical performances.

The best students, teachers, and several individuals who contributed to the smooth running of the schools were rewarded or distinguished with certificates of recognition. The participants also demonstrated their support for the policy to combat desertification by planting trees on the grounds of the host school.

The head of the Boussouma/S2 Basic Education District, Hamado Sawadogo, welcomed an initiative which, according to him, reflects solidarity and fraternity between the communities of the six villages. He encouraged them to continue this momentum, believing it to be a model that could inspire other communities in their efforts to promote social cohesion and education.

He also invited the population to become more involved in the management of schools in order to support the government's efforts to improve the quality of education. The sponsor of the edition, El Hadj Salfo Sawadogo, an economic operator, for his part reaffirmed his commitment to supporting actions in favor of education in the locality, in order to consolidate understanding, solidarity, and the development of the education system.

Launched in 2022, this rotating celebration could not be held in 2024 and 2025 due to the deteriorating security situation. The resumption of this activity is seen by the population as a sign of the return of peace and the revitalization of community life.
