Six Burkinabè Pilgrims Die During 2024 Hajj Due to Illness


MECCA — Six pilgrims from Burkina Faso have died due to illness while attending the Hajj in 2024, marking a somber note in this year’s pilgrimage.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the deceased were buried in Mecca, adhering to the customs of the Islamic Holy Land. This year, a total of 8,143 Burkinabè pilgrims made the journey to fulfill the religious obligation, one of the five pillars of Islam.
