Sissili: The new Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF) of Sissili, Soungalo Traoré, has officially taken office in Léo. The installation ceremony was conducted by the Secretary General of the province, Baowindsida Bingo, on November 6, 2024.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was attended by provincial officials, parents, former colleagues, friends, and both outgoing and incoming directors of Sissili. Soungalo Traoré expressed gratitude to the authorities for entrusting him with the responsibility and acknowledged the challenges ahead. He emphasized the need for collective support to enhance educational outcomes for children in the province.
The outgoing director, Richard Bienvenu Benon, served for over three years and has been reassigned to other duties. He welcomed his successor and encouraged former colleagues to extend their support to Traoré. Benon also reflected on his tenure, apologizing for any missteps during his service.

taff representative, highlighted significant achievements under Benon’s leadership. These included reopening 133 out of 136 schools closed due to insecurity and improving the success rate in the CEP from 56.82% in 2022 to 78.48% in 2024. The period also saw the construction of 28 classrooms, 21 temporary learning spaces, and the rehabilitation of existing facilities.
Mimtiri Oualbéogo, representing constituted bodies, praised Benon’s dedication and resilience. Secretary General Baowindsida Bingo commended Benon for his service and assured Traoré of the administration’s support in his new role.
Soungalo Traoré was appointed as the new DPEPPNF of Sissili by the Council of Ministers on October 16, 2024.
