Leo: As part of the national campaign 'Deme Sira' (The Path of Solidarity), several schools in the city of Leo held a synchronized flag-raising ceremony on Monday. This symbolic event underscores the commitment of the educational community to a more united and cohesive Burkina Faso in the face of security and humanitarian challenges.
According to Burkina Information Agency, all schools in the Leo basic education district participated in the patriotic ritual, in an atmosphere that was both solemn and fervent. This event aligns with the national awareness and civic mobilization campaign launched by the government to strengthen social cohesion and the resilience of the population.
Following the national anthem, the government's message urging the younger generation to embody the values of fraternity, mutual aid, and patriotism was conveyed to the students. Beyond the ceremony, awareness sessions were held in classrooms. Led by teachers, these interactive discussions allowed students to learn about the principles of "Deme Sira" and its importance in the current context of the country. "Solidarity should be shown through small acts of support, mutual aid, or comfort among you, at school and everywhere you are," explained Daouda Yaro, the principal of Leo-Mano B School, to his students.
Students and teachers from various schools unanimously pledged to resolutely march on the "Deme Sira" (a local initiative). They committed to promoting solidarity and community spirit in their schools and communities on a daily basis, working towards building a stronger and more united Burkinabe nation. "From now on, we will stand in solidarity with one another," summarized the students in Leo-Mano B.'s fifth-grade class.
Abdramane Nignan, head of the basic education district of Leo, was pleased to take part in this activity at the Leo-Secteur 2 school. "I am reassured that the message has been well received and I congratulate the teaching staff for their ongoing commitment," he said happily. This general mobilization in Leo demonstrates the deep roots of the government campaign among the youth, the spearhead of the nation, and suggests a collective momentum for a serene future.
