Sissili: The First 2026 Session of the Provincial Consultation Framework Reviews the Agricultural Campaign and Plans for Improved School Performance

Sissili: The High Commissioner of the Sissili province, T©wend© Isaac Sia, presided over the first ordinary session of the Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) for the year 2026 on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in L©o. This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the positive results of the collection of agricultural products and to discuss strategies for improving school performance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony was marked by the speech of the High Commissioner, who emphasized the strategic importance of the themes chosen. He highlighted the crucial nature of addressing the collection of agricultural products and the progress of the 2026 dry season agropastoral campaign, alongside improving educational outcomes in the province. He urged participants to actively contribute in order to develop concrete solutions to the identified challenges.

Communication on the collection of agricultural products was provided by the Provincial Director of Agriculture, Water and Animal and Fisheries Resources of Sissili, Zakaria Sawadogo. He specified that the National Security Stock Management Company (SONAGESS), now the Central Purchasing Agency for Agricultural and Pastoral Products, has set a national target of 530,000 tonnes. For the province of Sissili, while the forecast for field-edge collection was set at 11,176 tonnes, the results are encouraging. As of March 24, 2026, 13,520.79 tonnes had already been collected. Despite this achievement, Mr. Sawadogo noted obstacles such as insufficient collection kits, payment delays, and a lack of storage facilities. To address this, contingency measures have been taken, including rotating kits between municipalities, diversifying payment agencies, and using private stores.

Regarding education, the Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-formal Education (DPEPPNF), Soungalo Traor©, outlined the strategy aimed at improving results in the 2026 Primary School Certificate (CEP). After analyzing the difficulties hindering academic success and recalling the ministry's 11 projects, Soungalo Traor© presented the "Educational Caf©" initiative. This program involves giving fifth-grade students a daily math, French, or general knowledge exercise, Monday through Friday, with systematic monitoring and immediate feedback on the results. Particular emphasis is placed on schools facing difficulties. He requested the support of provincial authorities to ensure the success of this initiative.

At the close of the session, High Commissioner T©wend© Isaac Sia commended the quality of the discussions. He expressed his gratitude to the NGOs HELP and NITID€š¬  for their continued support of the province's development through the "DINADANE" and "WAKANDA" projects, whose achievements on the ground, he said, were conclusive.
