Sissili Education Department Reviews Exam Results and Plans for 2024

Léo, the provincial director of post-primary and secondary education in Sissili, Mimtiri Ouabeogo, chaired the first management council of the 2023-2024 school year on Friday, November 17, 2023, in Léo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the council meeting brought together heads of educational institutions from the province of Sissili, social partners, and department heads of the provincial directorate of post-primary and secondary education. According to Ouabeogo, the meeting was an opportunity to review the previous year’s exam results and plan for the upcoming 2024 school year.

Ouabeogo emphasized the significance of management councils in the functioning of provincial education management. The council heard a presentation by the head of the school examinations and competitions department, Nombi Claude Kougouindiga, supported by his colleagues, highlighting the increasing success rates in the 2023 school year compared to 2022.

The provincial directorate recorded 15,224 students in 365 classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year. Kougouindiga noted that 2,768 students registered for the BEPC exams, 1,324 for the BAC, and 35 for the BEP in 2023.

Ouabeogo expressed gratitude to all participants for their efforts and urged them to continue their dedication despite challenging conditions. He stressed the importance of keeping the education system functional as it is crucial for the province’s future.
