Sirba and Manni Associations Deliver Substantial Aid to Volunteers and Displaced Persons

Ouagadougou: The Association for the Development of the Department of Manni (ADDM) and the Provincial Coordination of Associations of Sirba have made a significant donation to support the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP). The donation, comprising 167 bags of rice and 400 bags of corn, was handed over during a ceremony at Manni Town Hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation includes 167 bags of 30 kg rice and 283 bags of 50 kg maize designated for the VDP, who are actively engaged in the defense of the territory. Additionally, 117 bags of 50 kg maize, along with clothing, school supplies, mats, and kitchen utensils, were provided to aid IDPs who are facing difficult living conditions due to displacement caused by insecurity.

The handover event witnessed the presence of various administrative, military, customary, and religious authorities, along with numerous association representatives and local residents. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the resilience of local communities and supporting those involved in security and solidarity efforts, as stated by the donors.

Tifoudiba Tindano, representing ADDM, emphasized that the donation symbolizes national solidarity and fraternity towards both the defenders and the displaced. He highlighted that the gesture, while small, carries the gratitude and encouragement of the entire nation, reinforcing belief in a dignified and united Burkina Faso.

Emmanuel Tindano, President of the Special Delegation of Manni, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors and urged for more such citizen initiatives. He noted that these acts are crucial for building community cohesion, social harmony, and peace in the region.
