Sidama Chief Administrator Highlights Green Legacy Program as a Symbol of National Unity

SIDAMA – The Green Legacy program, aiming to plant 600 million seedlings in a single day, has become a symbol of multinational unity and cooperation, according to Sidama State Chief Administrator Desta Ledamo. This initiative is part of a broader national effort to showcase Ethiopian solidarity and development through environmental conservation.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Desta Ledamo emphasized the importance of the program during his participation in the massive tree-planting campaign. “This is a special historic occasion when our multinational cooperation and unity is manifested,” he noted. The program not only focuses on the environmental benefits of planting trees but also serves as a demonstration of collective effort, with adults expected to plant more than 20 seedlings and teenagers at least 10. Ledamo’s message highlighted the diverse significance of the seedlings being planted, underscoring their importance to the region’s ecological and social fabric.
