Shura Council Chairman Enhances Ties with Jiangsu Delegation in Manama

Manama: In a significant development aimed at bolstering bilateral relations, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, welcomed a delegation from the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Jiangsu Province (JPPC), headed by Vice Chairperson Zhang Baojuan.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting centered around discussions on Bahrain’s national development within the framework of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. This process is credited with strengthening democratic governance and fostering progress across various sectors in the nation.

During the discussions, Al Saleh expressed Bahrain’s dedication to enhancing strategic partnerships worldwide, intent on converting these relationships into practical agreements beneficial for political and economic spheres. He acknowledged the deepening diplomatic and economic ties with China, particularly in trade areas, and voiced optimism about future collaborations that could promote regio
nal and global stability and development.

Highlighting recent high-level exchanges, Al Saleh noted the outcomes from the visit of HM the King to China and the follow-ups by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on agreements and memorandums of understanding spanning multiple sectors. He affirmed the Shura Council’s resolve to strengthen parliamentary connections to further enhance cooperation in regional and international forums.

Zhang Baojuan praised Bahrain’s democratic advancements and the proactive role of its legislative bodies. She expressed pride in the growing parliamentary relationship between Bahrain and China and a mutual eagerness to deepen these ties further. This meeting marks a continued effort to build on the strong foundation of mutual respect and cooperation between the two nations.
