Sheger City Embarks on Major Road Development to Enhance Connectivity

SHEGER CITY — The President of the Oromia region, Shimelis Abdisa, inaugurated a comprehensive 150-kilometer road project today, aimed at linking all sub-cities within the newly formed Sheger City Administration. The ceremony, attended by Mayor Teshome Adugna and other prominent officials, took place in Kurajida Sub-City.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the ambitious project will be executed in phases, with the initial phase focusing on constructing 38.5 kilometers at a cost of over 4.5 billion Birr. The road development is designed to connect the five sub-cities of Sheger City—Kurajida, Legetafo, Legedadi, Gelan, and Koyefech—enhancing both accessibility and economic prospects for the region.

The project underscores the administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and urban connectivity, which are critical for the area’s ongoing development and integration.
