Shabana FC Parts Ways with Head Coach and Goalkeeper Trainer

KISII – Shabana Football Club has announced the departure of Head Coach Sammy Okoth and Goalkeeper Trainer Collins Oduor after the team suffered three consecutive defeats in the Kenya Premier League.

According to Kenya News Agency, the decision for the coaching staff to leave was mutual. The club expressed gratitude for the commitment and dedication Okoth and Oduor demonstrated during their time with the team, and wished them well in future pursuits. Okoth, who was appointed in February 2022, had steered the club back into the top tier of Kenyan football for the 2023/2024 season after a 17-year absence. In the interim, Assistant Coach Oscar Kambona will step in as head coach while the search for a permanent replacement is underway. The team’s current record stands at one win, four draws, and six losses. They are scheduled to compete against Nzoia Sugar at Homabay Stadium on the following Sunday. This managerial change follows vocal concerns from fans over the team’s recent lackluster performances and the resources they expend supporting the club.
