Sh73 Million NG-CDF Bursary To Support Bomachoge Borabu Students

Bomachoge borabu: At least 13,700 learners are set to benefit from the Sh73 million Bomachoge Borabu National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) for the year 2025/2026. Speaking during the launch of the bursary at St. Peter's Keberesi Senior School in Kenyenya Sub-County, the area Member of Parliament Obadiah Barongo said the beneficiaries, who had increased by 2,900 from the previous year, were awarded the funds after demonstrating genuine interest in advancing their education.

According to Kenya News Agency, the MP lauded the education officials and teachers in the sub-county for the improved performance during last year's examinations, where the schools attained a mean grade of 6.0 compared to the previous year's 5.0. Barongo, who also commissioned a girls' dormitory at the school, pledged to work closely with the school heads to boost the performance. He urged parents to continue investing in their children's education, saying that education remains the ultimate equaliser that will unlock opportunities for the students.

Kenyenya Deputy County Commissioner William Bett reiterated the government's commitment to achieving the 100 percent transition by ensuring that all children are enrolled in school. Bett added they are collaborating with education stakeholders in the sub-county to curb cases of arson like those that had been witnessed in two senior schools at the start of this academic year.

On his part, the Keberesi Senior School Principal Lucas Maburi, lauded the MP for launching the dormitory and bursary programme, saying both projects will boost the academic performance of the students.
