Victoria, Seychelles – Seychellois bodybuilder Wallace Dorasamy has achieved a significant milestone, securing gold at the National Physique Committee (NPC) Worldwide African Pro Qualifier in Cape Town, South Africa.
According to Seychelles News Agency, competing in both the Bodybuilding and Men’s Classic Physique categories on December 1 at the Corpus Christi Panorama, Dorasamy, under the guidance of coaches Tara de la Fontaine and Jamie Dorigo, triumphed in the bodybuilding event. The 33-year-old also secured a commendable fifth place in the men’s classic physique category.
Dorasamy reflected on his journey, describing 2023 as his most successful year in the sport. “This year was my most successful year by far and I know it’s only the beginning as I keep improving year after year,” he shared with the Seychelles News Agency (SNA) on Wednesday.
The former footballer expressed gratitude towards his coaches, De la Fontaine and IFBB Pro coach Dorigo, as well as his family, for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Earlier in the year, Dorasamy clinched a gold medal in the open bodybuilding middleweight class at the Ryan Terry British Championships in Manchester, UK, from October 14 to 15. He also won a silver medal in the men’s classic physique at the same event, competing against seven other athletes for the top spot.
Dorasamy, a high-level athlete under contract with the National Sports Council (NSC), acknowledged the council’s role in providing him the opportunity to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
This recent achievement in Cape Town adds to Dorasamy’s growing list of accolades, showcasing his dedication and prowess in the field of bodybuilding.
