The Association to support the emergence and development of the local economy in Africa (SEVE-Africa) collaborated with the Kaya Town Hall on Tuesday to implement its contingency plan by providing 11.25 tons of food to aid 450 vulnerable households, including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities in the Kaya commune.

This assistance is directed towards vulnerable IDP and host households, as well as those households that have returned to their original locations within the municipality.
The President of the Special Delegation of the municipality of Kaya, Solange Kima/Minoungou, received the donation in the presence of the Country Director of Oxfam Burkina. She expressed gratitude to SEVE-Africa and its partners for their contribution, which provides relief to vulnerable households and IDPs in her community.
SEVE-Africa coordinator Sandrine Diallo/Kabore stated that the initiative is part of the project "Strengthening the resilience and social cohesion of populations affected by crises and the impacts of climate change in the Centre-North region," which is implemented by SEVE-Africa in the commune of Kaya with the technical and financial backing of Oxfam Burkina and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). She also mentioned that the Association plans further similar initiatives to support the special municipal delegation of Kaya in addressing the needs of IDPs and vulnerable households.
Aguiratou Ouedraogo, representing the beneficiaries, expressed thanks to SEVE-Africa for their generosity and urged beneficiaries to refrain from diverting or reselling the food, emphasizing its intended use for consumption. Following the distribution of food supplies, the SEVE-Africa Coordinator participated in a provisional reception of the fence of a nutritious garden established for the benefit of internally displaced women and residents of the village of Dahisma, located approximately ten kilometers from Kaya.
