Zondoma: The Association of Muslim Students of Burkina Faso (AEEMB) Zondoma section organized the 17th edition of the Provincial Seminar on Islamic Training, which commenced on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Gourcy. The theme for this year’s seminar is ‘Road safety, what responsibility does Muslim youth have?’

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event has attracted 250 young participants, both girls and boys, from five communes of Zondoma. The opening ceremony was chaired by Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, the High Commissioner of Zondoma province. He praised the organizers for their initiative, emphasizing its importance in promoting spiritual awakening among young Muslims. Nab© highlighted the impact of road safety, warning that development is hindered if young lives continue to be lost due to negligence on the roads. He encouraged the participants to become ambassadors for road safety in their respective schools and families.

Moumouni Dialla, president of the Pan-African Youth Union and a member of the Algerian National Assembly, echoed the High Commissioner’s sentiments. He pointed out that young people are often both the perpetrators and victims of road accidents, urging them to exercise caution on the roads. Dialla stressed that healthy youth are essential for development.

The seminar director, Adama Ou©draogo, noted that SEPROFI serves as an essential platform for the capacity building and spiritual growth of young Muslims. He outlined that the seminar will focus on communications regarding road safety and incivility, alongside prayers and invocations. The event will span from March 22 to 26, 2025.

The seminar activities transitioned from the Centre for the Integration and Transformation of Plural Entities (CITES) to the Zondoma Provincial High School (LPZ). Aristide Ignace Sorgho, the central police commissioner of Gourcy, led the inaugural conference addressing road safety issues in Burkina Faso.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Bassirou Nana, the representative of the President of the National Executive Committee of AEEMB.
