Seno: The second edition of the Dori Regional Hospital Center (CHR) Director General's Cup concluded on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The laboratory team emerged victorious in the final against the pediatrics team with a score of 2 goals to 1.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the final pitted two teams from the CHR against each other, the laboratory and pediatrics teams, in front of a large crowd. The "laboratory technicians" won the match with a score of 2-1. This victory allowed them to win the trophy put into play by the CHR's general management.
In addition to the trophy, the laboratory team received a prize of 200,000 FCFA. The pediatrics team, the second-place finisher, took home 150,000 FCFA. Third place went to the regional health directorate (DRS) team, which received 75,000 FCFA, followed by the CHR administration team, which received a prize of 50,000 FCFA.
The general director of the Dori CHR, Stephane Zagre, expressed his gratitude to the health personnel, the administrative authorities, and the population for their mobilization and support. "This cut is a way of strengthening the links between health workers and the population," he stressed.
Present at the ceremony, Ali Bokoum, the mission officer at the Presidency of Faso, congratulated the Director General for the successful organization of the competition. He hoped that this type of sporting and social initiative would inspire other health facilities in the country.
The Secretary General of the Sahel region, Auguste Kinda, also welcomed the initiative, congratulating the promoter, the partners, and all the healthcare staff. According to him, the football tournament helps to strengthen cohesion, solidarity, and symbiosis between populations and health workers.
By providing a framework for relaxation and fraternity through sport, the Dori CHR Director General's Cup confirmed its role as a tool for bringing together hospital services, authorities, and communities. The victory of the laboratory team marks the history of this second edition, but beyond the sporting result, it is the spirit of solidarity and mobilization in favor of public health that triumphed in Dori.
