DAKAR: Voting began on Sunday for legislative elections in Senegal, with polling stations opening at 8 a.m. local time across the country and abroad. The elections are set to determine 165 deputies for the National Assembly, with a five-year term at stake.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a total of 7,371,890 registered Senegalese voters are participating in the electoral process, casting their votes at 7,048 polling stations and 16,440 voting centers nationwide and internationally. This legislative election sees the participation of 41 political formations, parties, or coalitions, each vying for a place in the country’s legislative body.

Voting is scheduled to continue throughout the day until 6 p.m. local time, as the nation awaits the outcome of these pivotal elections.
