Senegal Clinches Victory Over Burkina Faso in CAN 2025 Qualifiers.

Elim/CAN2025: The Lions of Senegal beat the Stallions of Burkina Faso on Thursday at the March 26 stadium in Bamako (Mali) as part of the 5th and penultimate day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. Half-time: 0-0.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after a balanced first half, the Lions of Senegal managed to get the better of the Stallions of Burkina Faso thanks to newcomer Habib Diarra with a long-range shot in the 83rd minute. In the first leg played on September 6, the two teams had separated with a score of 1 goal each.

Senegal now takes back the leader’s chair in group L with 13 points (+7), followed by Burkina Faso with 10 points (+7). Burundi and Malawi, who separated back to back with a 0-0 draw this Thursday, each scored one point. The Hirondelles of Burundi occupy the 3rd place with 4 points (-5), while the Flames of Malawi are ranked 4th with 1 point (-8).

The 6th and final day of the qualifiers is set to be played on November 18. Senegal will host Burundi, while Burkina Faso will travel to face
Malawi.

The CAN 2025 tournament will be played from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco.
