Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, during his one-on-one meeting with the forces of the Center-South on Saturday, called on Burkinabe to use Android mobile phones responsibly, which, beyond the dangers related to the protection of personal data, disrupts security operations carried out by the fighting forces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor© expressed concerns about the use of Android phones, emphasizing that their “abusive” use poses risks not only to personal data protection and privacy but also to the concentration and vigilance of soldiers. The President highlighted that soldiers are often distracted by constant communication with their loved ones, which can interfere with military operations.
“This is not specific to the Burkinabe army, but this problem exists everywhere today, in all armies around the world,” Traor© stated, urging citizens to avoid contacting soldiers on operations at any time of day to prevent creating vulnerable situations for them. He further suggested that the families of soldiers should discourage the use of Android phones by those on the front lines, advocating for simpler communication devices to reduce social media addiction.
In addition, President Traor© warned against the psychological impacts of games of chance, urging the people of Burkina Faso to exercise caution as these activities negatively affect both civilians and soldiers.
